The Client
Foreign Luxury Watch
Foreign Luxury Watch (FLW) is a Dhaka-based luxury watch retailer offering 100% genuine automatic and luxury timepieces — Tissot, Seiko, Orient, Calvin Klein, Coach, Tory Burch and more — from their showroom in Dhaka and e-commerce website at foreignluxurywatch.com.
Products range from ~$91 (BDT 10,000) to ~$909 (BDT 1,00,000). High-ticket, high-quality, and entirely dependent on trust to convert online.
"A fine watch is more than just an accessory — it's a legacy of craftsmanship, precision, and timeless elegance."
Foreign Luxury Watch — Brand Philosophy
How It Began
A Conversation at a Barbershop
This engagement didn't start with a pitch deck. It started at a barbershop in Dhaka — a chance conversation between a frustrated business owner and a digital marketer waiting for a haircut.
The client had been running 4–5 Facebook message campaigns continuously for over 18 months. He had video content, products people wanted, and a real budget. But he had never made a single online sale.
"I've spent so much money. But I never got a single online sale."

Diagnosis
What Was Actually Wrong
After auditing the account and website, the problems were clear. This was not a product or budget problem — it was a strategy and infrastructure problem, entirely fixable.
Wrong Campaign Objective
18+ months of Engagement → Message campaigns. Meta was optimising for messages — not purchases. Sales require a Sales objective.
Broken Tracking
Only a basic Pixel installed. No Conversions API, no GA4, no GTM. Meta had no reliable purchase signal to optimise against.
No Audience Strategy
No defined age range, no interest layers, no custom audiences, no lookalikes. Ads shown to anyone, regardless of intent.
No Funnel Thinking
Jumping straight to conversion with cold audiences. A $200+ luxury watch requires brand familiarity before purchase intent.
No E-commerce Ads
The website had a product catalogue but it was never connected to Meta. Catalogue Sales ads had never been used.
No Testing Framework
Same campaigns repeated indefinitely. No A/B tests, no scaling logic, no data-driven decisions.
Foundation
Building the Infrastructure First
Before spending a single dollar on ads, the entire tracking foundation was rebuilt. Without clean data, no campaign can be properly optimised.
Before — What Was Missing
- Basic Meta Pixel only — inconsistent firing
- No Conversions API (CAPI) — up to 30% signal loss
- No Google Analytics 4
- No Google Tag Manager
- No product catalogue connected to Meta
- No custom or lookalike audiences
- No purchase event tracking verified
After — Full Setup Implemented
- Meta Pixel fully verified + all events firing
- Conversions API (CAPI) connected — near 100% signal
- Google Analytics 4 configured
- Google Tag Manager installed
- Product catalogue synced with data rules
- Custom + Lookalike audiences built
- Purchase events confirmed in Events Manager
The Strategy
A Full-Funnel Approach, Built in Phases
Core insight: you cannot sell a $200+ luxury watch to a cold audience. The funnel was built deliberately — awareness first, then sales.
01
Phase 1 · Days 1–7
Awareness & Warm-Up
A 7-day awareness phase across Traffic, Engagement, and Messaging campaigns to warm the audience, build brand recognition, and begin seeding Custom Audiences for retargeting.
Traffic CampaignsEngagement CampaignsMessaging CampaignsAudience Seeding
02
Phase 2 · Ongoing
Catalogue Sales Launch
With tracking verified and audiences warmed, Catalogue Sales campaigns launched — the first e-commerce ads the brand had ever run. Dynamic product ads served the right watches to the right people automatically.

03
Phase 3 · Continuous
Testing, Scaling & Optimisation
Winners scaled, losers cut fast. A/B tests across audiences, creatives, and bid strategies. CBO used for intelligent budget distribution. 722 campaigns over 17 months reflects a relentless testing culture.

Phase 4 · Ongoing
Brand Establishment Online
Parallel messaging and engagement campaigns maintained brand presence and lead flow — building a pipeline of high-intent luxury buyers for both online and offline conversion.

The Bigger Picture
Beyond Tracked Revenue
Meta Pixel captures online purchases — but for a high-ticket luxury brand, the tracked revenue is only the beginning.
🎯
Lead Pipeline Built
Every customer acquired became a verified luxury buyer in the client's database — the most valuable asset for a high-ticket retailer.
📈
Offline Upsell Impact
Customers who initially purchased a $91–$270 watch were later sold additional pieces worth $545–$909+ through relationship-based follow-up.
The $87,414 in tracked revenue represents the entry point of customer relationships — not their total value. The true ROI of this campaign is significantly higher than any dashboard can show.
Key Learnings
What Made the Difference
01
Fix the Foundation Before Spending
No campaign can compensate for broken tracking. CAPI, GA4, and proper events were prerequisites — not afterthoughts.
02
Objective Must Match Goal
18 months of message campaigns → zero purchases. Aligning campaign objective to business goal is non-negotiable.
03
Warm Before You Sell
Cold audiences don't buy $200+ watches. The 7-day awareness phase built familiarity before conversion campaigns ran.
04
Catalogue Ads Are a Superpower
Dynamic catalogue ads matched the right product to the right buyer automatically. This single type drove the majority of purchases.
05
Scale Winners, Kill Losers Fast
Continuous A/B testing and aggressive reallocation to winning campaigns maintained efficiency at scale across 722 campaigns.
06
Revenue + Conversations = Full Picture
10,796 conversations at $0.75 each supported the offline sales funnel — capturing revenue that no pixel can track.
